WHO IS BEHIND THE SEAMS AT VA?
I started Vertical Athletics because it seemed nearly impossible to find quality fitness apparel that was long enough for me. Knowing that many of my family, friends, and teammates had the same problem, I decided to turn my passion for style and sports into a new career. I designed Vertical Athletics especially for tall men and women to give them extra room for our longer torsos, legs, and arms. I also thought it was important to make as little of an impact on the environment as possible, which is why we are committed to using sustainable fabrics like; Recycled Polyester and Cotton, Eco-Carbon, Bamboo, Organic Cotton and other eco-friendly performance fabrics. Enjoy your new favorite workout gear-
it's just one more reason to love being Vertical!
Yours truly,
Renee
WHAT IS VA ALL ABOUT
Finally, a dynamic athletic clothing line exclusively for the vertically-privileged, Vertical Athletics is dedicated to designing eco-friendly fitness apparel for Tall men and women. Our pants and tops are not just longer, we actually fit them on tall athletes to get the base size. Tall = men who are over 6'2 and women who are 5' 8 +. With longer inseams, torso, and sleeve lengths, our fitness apparel is designed to fit long and lean or built and buffed athletic bodies.
What Makes VA Tick
VA proudly- designs proper overall fit for tall (lower knees, elbows; longer torso, inseams) - provides precise fit for broader athletic shoulders - uses recycled and organic textiles to drive performance results.
What Makes VA Unique
VA is specifically designed for tall men and women and is quite eco-friendly. Many brands geared towards the average-sized offer pants in "Tall," however, VA garments are not just lengthened; they are custom made to fit longer throughout the entire garment. Finally, pants fit the hips, knees, and ankles of a tall person, at the proper place. Trendy shirts and jackets also feature a custom Tall fit. Other brands offer a limited selection of Tall pants and very few manufacturers offer Tall tops. At VA, even the lengthiest sizes in every kind of fitness wear are no tall order for us. The result is you feel good about yourself in clothes that fit you right. You feel even better because you use recycled products and wear eco-friendly fabrics, preserving a healthy environment.

RENEE KRIEG
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Renee's multi-faceted career began when she graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2000 and joined the U.S. Army shortly afterwards. While in the Army she served as a Signals Intelligence Analyst and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant after just over 4 yrs of service. In the last year of her six-year stint, Renee provided operational support and was a Platoon Sergeant, supervising a team who hunted down the bad guys so the rest of us could sleep safely at night. Honing her leadership and discipline skills, and longing for some pink among all that camouflage, Renee branched out into sales and became a senior consultant in Mary Kay, Cosmetics in 2005. After achieving Top Sales Associate for a unit of over 100 consultants, she took on yet another independent sales franchise with Pre-Paid Legal Services, managing identity theft risk while protecting families and businesses against the ever-increasing litigiousness of our society. Throughout her business ventures, Renee never lost her affinity for fashion, travel and cultures, and was soon moving to Los Angeles from Hawaii to study Apparel Manufacturing at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). A desire to forge her operational, business and managerial skills with a passion for fashion was born. Always environmentally conscious, Renee's impeccable timing to launch her own athletic wear company in this favorable time of "going green" proved her market savvy and business acumen well. It doesn't end there. Renee has lived in Spain and Guatemala, and speaks both fluent Spanish and can talk her way into a good bargain at a Korean market. Just look out for the 5' 11" blond, former Staff Sergeant, volleyball babe serving it up on the sands of Manhattan Beach.
